Session on Management Skill Development to be Offered on February 27, 2014
This session is open to everyone who is interested – students, staff and community members.
All sessions will run from 3-5pm here at the school.
The basics of the workshop will focus on meeting preparation, the roles of the executive members of an organization, planning an agenda, making motions, maintaining order and taking care of business.
If you are interested in attending please contact the school so your name can be added to the list of participants.

Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board Meeting Monday October 28, 2013
Rankin will host the regular meeting of the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board tomorrow evening Monday October 28,2013 at 7pm at Rankin School. There will be a ten minute presentation given by the student group Rankin Relief. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Bottle Drive Wednesday September 25, 2013 3-7pm
The sports teams, coaches, teachers and their families will be collecting recyclables to support the various sports activities that take place in the school throughout the year.
Students on teams are asked to participate as well as family members that are available.
Trucks will collect from Barrachois to Little Narrows. All volunteers are welcome for both collecting and sorting.
Meeting for Grade 12 Students/Parents and Guardians
Reminder of the meeting announced in the newsletter to be held on Monday September 23 at 7pm at the school.
The meeting will cover topics surrounding courses, scholarships, prom, graduation and final year activities.
Guidance and Gr 12 teachers will also be attending to answer any questions that may arise.

Giant 101.9 FM Music Scholarship
This scholarship is open to all Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board students
in Grades 5-12.
There are two deadlines per school year: Applications must be received before
September 30, 2013 or May 15, 2014.
September applications should be for instruments, lessons, honours groups etc.
May applications should be for summer music camps, post secondary education, etc.
Applications have been made available to students but additions copies are available at the office.
The application asks for the music teachers signature – that is referring to our school music teacher Meaghan O’Handley.
